Description: Designer. South African (Coloured). Born 25 February 1981. Male. I’m an aspirant industrial innovator and have a passion for solving complex problems which relate to dynamics of social urbanity and the use of function in aesthetics. With an ecological research method as the approach and a multiplexed design skill as the toolbox, resolving issues which relate the predisposed uses for commercial goods and essentially a sound rationale or purpose for why people spend so much money on them. I started my career in print design and branding in the retail space, thus most of my current work reflects this. I started my 'field work' doing print design work for 6 brand advertising/ design agencies over the past 6 years. Saatchi & Saatchi, Bester Burke Slingers, Grey, Fountainhead, Mick + Nick and Dashboard Integrated. Here I worked on creative campaigns which aimed to captivate specific segments of the market, whilst creating mass brand appeal. My present and future work will focus on the uses of ecological research methods which look at the uses for innovation in design, its methods of production and collaborative input to drive skills distribution. My focus is to use innovative design techniques to dictate the marketer's buying behavior, to shift the focus which is currently on the consumer buying behavior. I believe that innovation and market segmentation requires careful consideration as the cost to produce could affect the value of the impact.
