Tarot Cards 

A little project I did for printmaking VI class. Each animal has a meaning and number out of the 21 trump cards in a deck of Tarot cards. The images were lacquer transferred and then hand stitched. The back of each card has a gold dreamcatcher silkscreened on it. The name "tarot" came from the Egyptian words tar, meaning "royal", and ro, meaning "road", and that the Tarot therefore represented a "royal road" to wisdom. I decided to sew the latin translation "regius via" on the front of the cloth case.
