Synopsis:
Zhanna, a spunky young Jewish girl from the Ukraine, is a gifted piano prodigy--she was giving concerts by the age of six.  When the Nazis invade her hometown and her family is condemned to exile and execution in the killing fields of Drobitsky Yar, Zhanna manages to escape the death march and uses her rare musical gift to help her survive.  Performing for the occupying Nazi troops, and never unaware of the cruel irony of her situation, Zhanna keeps her true identity a secret until a young American soldier with ties to Julliard adopts her.  Upon her emigration to America, Zhanna’s gift flourishes and she becomes one of the first Jewish refugees to enter Juilliard.

Hey Nate, Great to see a cover using one of our pictures on designrelated. Also this is the first usage of one of Jaqueline's pictures so she'll be delighted. Best Niall

Great cover. The alternate is a wonderful design but a tad like it's trying to be silly. Really wonderful work through and through...

Thanks, Ian. Now that I look back at the other design, I tend to agree with you...this book is more a biopic than the alternate cover would suggest, and is very much about it's human characters, and not necessarily the music aspect.
