I was part of an interdisciplinary team of students from WSU who designed and built a 650 square foot solar powered home. Our house was built and displayed on the WSU Pullman campus for four months. Then we moved the house to the National Mall in Washington D.C., where it was on display for approximately two-hundred thousand people. I served as the Communications Team Leader, where we focused on the visual communication aspects of the project including signage and the website (which ranked second in the competition), as well as organizing public events such as the ground breaking ceremony and private tours for the team sponsors. This project also marked my first experience with construction and I consider it to be an invaluable component of my education.
