proposed rehab project for an uninproved condominium in a national hsitoric registery 1920s building in chicago's edgewater community. approx 3000 sq feet. unobstructed lake views from the living and dining rooms. project budget: $200K.

kitchen would be opened up eliminating the small dinette and inconvenient serving area via a large-scaled, open central island. no upper cabinets on outside walls as additional storage space would be realized thru floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinets.

client wanted period style white cabinetry and hexagonal tiling in the kitchen along with period hardware in keeping with the 1920's style bathrooms and architectural elements in the condominium.

carerra marble and rock maple island top, carerra marble CT and splash.

insuffiently-scaled crown moldings in the private areas would be "beefed-up" to mimic elaborate plaster crowns in the public rooms. wet bar added to library/tv room and closets re-aligned for more modern needs in the 3 bedrooms.
