So is this the award winner? Would you believe I was talking about it while out eating Thai food? How so? It is the Picador connection, I was eating with Jenn Huntsman, who I've tried to convince to sign-up here. I think Karen also told me about it when she was here in Gville.

I saw this in the AIGA design Archives. Awesome. You should post the spine and back cover as well...the whole idea is carried through.

It would seem hard to Gogh wrong with such a stunning painting, but such wrongness happens a lot more than it should. This cover is a great lesson in using a work of art with accurate context ("Almond Blossom") and smart cropping... The white ribbon with hand-lettering — while also adding dimension — is expertly done, especially for a novel with a female protagonist whose story is told in a "spiraling" narrative. Everything here is spot-on and beautiful.
