Wendy and I have had a wonderful collaborative relationship over my career, from Cynthia Rylant's sweet-as-pie series The Cobble Street Cousins, to the magnificent Love Is..., to this wonderful book. It's been my great fortune to work with her across the imprints. This cover still delights me for its atypical layout: the spray of color and imagery, the focal point of the boy with just the right pose to convey boredom turning into imagination, and the arcing type.
