The ‘Colourful Music’ project is based on the connection between visual and audible interaction, and the ability people have to comprehend music as a visual language. The aim of the project was to introduce an easy and visually stimulating way to learn musical elements using simple interactive exercises.
There are many aspects of aspects of music that make it difficult to learn, such as interpretation of symbols, hand-eye co-ordination and keeping of rhythm. With the aid of computer interaction, and using a new visual/audio system to map different musical elements, I have created an easier way of understanding music.
This should help people who are having difficulty reading music to have a better understanding of basic musical principles, and in turn become more inclined to start playing, even buying an instrument of their own.
