Hand-bound book created with letterpress type and illustrated using pochoir stencils.

A Child’s Book of Numbers is a counting book for school children. The books are hardbound and covered with book cloth, debossed using the letterpress. The pochoir was done in three vibrant colors: red, yellow and blue. Each book feature one of three different covers, featuring these three bright and youthful colors. The typeface is handset Futura, an extremely geometrical sans serif type face. Intensely rounded, the letterforms create a welcoming, friendly feel, drawing in children. The geometry of the letterforms reinforces the notion of mathematics within these counting books.
