my brother owns a masonry company here in new york, part of his equipment is stone engraving compressors and nossels, a new toy for arteology! last year i did a whole series of engraved in glass pieces, from polish crystal to rainbow flute glass, each piece is first matted with a rubber mask and then with a knife i draw into the surface by hand remove areas i want blasted and then i engrave with a high power sand. the final result is a very nice engraved frosted surface on the glass revealing the design. i did many custom orders and made some special gifts/ the first project you see is what i called a prayer piece incense burner, the base is hand carved bluestone with a small hole drilled for the insence,in the base sits a hand carved flute glass that hold water and a flower, it is for people that lost a loved one and at anytime they can have a little place in their home where the use it for rememberance of that person.
