thanks cammy,
Its based off the song title "Mouths like sidewinder missiles" So i tried out a bunch of different mouths on a basic rocket shape. I ended up using a mandril mouth ( i tried humans, dogs, sharks, and lions) It was more or less about tryign to find one that fit the look and also fit the perspective.
After that I used a basic comic book style of repeating graphics and falling lines to make the movement in the sky. I used ink and brush and then scanned in each swash and layed them up as halftones and solid color. I think I should have given them each a different mouth, but then again I like the repeating image, looks more low rent comicbook.
I ran into a few problems printing this, alot of stupid tech problems with the company we print our film with. But all in all I was really happy with it. Too bad no one bought them at the show. hahahahaha.
