Visual merchandising represents a retail stores best foot forward, an intricate art form that captures the essence of a company while showcasing the newest lines and fashions. While appreciation for this conceptual expression ever grows, publications displaying the beauty of these designs are still absent. Visual Candy, a name chosen to encompass the sweet, eye grabbing draw of these displays, is a magazine created to fill that void. The layout, binding, and pictures are all original works that are edgy and contemporary, making use of bold colors against the elegance and simplicity of stark white. The layout was printed on slightly smaller, square sheets giving the impression of a catalogue design, which effectively embodies a sense of high end appeal. In this San Francisco edition, the pictures focus on the flare and life captured in the windows across Union Square, as well as the magnificence they hold.
