Description:
Unused comps. Project killed.
These are just a few of many I designed for this dream project. Harcourt brought us this project. They have owned the rights to these from the beginning. For decades they have licensed them out. They were considering taking back the license and publishing them themselves. They wanted to have designs ready in case that happened. In the end I guess they thought it was more lucrative to continue licensing them out. Oh well. Would have been the highlight of my career to have seen any of these printed. It was still fun to work on.

rats. that's too bad about them getting killed. How great that must have been to design books that have been on every American's english curriculum... Let me know when you get The Catcher in the Rye gig.

The first set is freakin magnificent! Hopefully they will change their mind. Well you can always dream!

I remember when you were working on these, and even halfway done, they were awesome. Here's hoping they may yet see the light of day.

I have to agree with everyone else, here: both sets are great! I'm a sucker for a translucent layer.
