Love, lust, adventure, murder, and coconut rum- this has it all.  Actually it doesn’t really have lust or murder, but there is a great coconut rum incident so it might as well have lust and murder.  “Birds of a Feather” by acclaimed author Alison McGraw is a tale of a young man trying to find himself and the unusual characters he meets along the way.  

Raised in a small Ohio town of only 500 residents, Jimmy is an artist who is no longer inspired by his immediate surroundings.  He wants desperately to leave and go to the big city; Cleveland.   While on his adventure he meets with seemingly unusual characters- a young girl obsessed with getting to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to kiss Jimmi Hendrix’s guitar, a man who does break dancing on the less than busy street to “earn” his keep, and an elderly woman slightly less than normal who collects Matroyshka Nesting dolls.  While these quirky and eccentric characters initially rattle his world, Jimmy soon recognizes that they are all not as different as he once thought and thus begins the path to self-discovery.
