On April 19, 2008, AIGA NY is hosting the Alphabet/City Walking Tour with Tobias-Frere Jones. The visual exploration of signage and lettering begins at the corner of Chambers and Centre street, making its way though the Lower East Side, Little Italy and Chinatown.
Last September I participated in the same walking tour with Tobias Frere-Jones. But in New York city every walk is different...and already a few of the sites Tobias shared back in September have disappeared, while some previously hidden treasures may have come into view (I’m tempted to sign up again). To date, I think attending the typography walking tour was one of the most worthwhile design events I have experienced.
