Description: Hi, my name is Maarten Deckers and I'm a graphic designer based in Hasselt, Belgium. For over ten years I've been designing books, book covers, folders, flyers, brand identities, posters and the occasional website. AFTER I graduated as a graphic designer from Artevelde Hogeschool, Ghent (Belgium) in 2001, I landed my first job at Clavis Publishing, one of the best publishers of children's books and youth novels in the country, with offices in Hasselt, Amsterdam and NewYork. I've had a great time working with a talented team and designing books and book covers for some of the best authors and illustrators from Belgium and The Netherlands. I even got a chance to design book covers for a few series by international best-selling author Anthony Horowitz. Even after my time at the office I couldn't get enough of it so I also started freelancing in 2007. BY the end of 2010 I was ready for an even bigger challenge. I decided to leave Clavis Publishing and start my own design studio to determine my own path while I continue to be devoted to designing book covers, books, brand identity's, folders, flyers and posters with the greatest care and eye for detail … determined to visualize my client's story in an even better way than they could have hoped for.
