Senior Web Designer

The Segal Company/Location: New York, NY or Princeton, NJ/Date Listed: July 13, 2012

Description

Segal is a leading employee benefits, human resources, and compensation consulting firm seeking an experienced presentation/print/web senior designer. This position may be located in the New York or Princeton Office and is part of our In-House Design (in•de) group.

The Opportunity: The in-house designer supports client projects as well as marketing/communications initiatives with sophisticated report and presentation creation, print design, website design, and other interactive formats such as online surveys or e-learning. Regardless of the office location, s/he must be able to work remotely with consultants and other internal clients in offices across the United States and in Canada.

The Role: Approximately half of the designer’s productive time involves formatting MS Word reports and PowerPoint presentations to the firm’s standard using our branded templates and styles, and illustrating them with rich graphical content. Many documents include spreadsheet data, so a basic understanding of Excel is a plus. An ability to juggle multiple projects and fast-turnaround deadlines, combined with obsessive attention to accuracy and detail is essential. The other half is focused on a wide range of design projects, including print collaterals (e.g., brochures, newsletters, and posters), online communications (e.g., websites, html emails, online surveys, and e-learning applications). This latter group of design projects requires a keen sense of conceptual design and creative technique, as well as personal initiative and ownership for deliverables from start to finish. Potentially, a portion of these projects are directly for use by clients.

The Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications, Graphic Design or related academic discipline; a minimum five years’ experience in design roles; a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010, and expert knowledge of the Adobe CS software family (print, web, or both). Other capabilities that will ensure success in this role include great listening and communication skills; close collaboration with a diverse group of consultants, creative colleagues and external clients; an appetite for continuous learning; and active sharing and solicitation of knowledge and feedback.

We offer a competitive pay and benefits package and an environment dedicated to professional growth, collegiality, and excellence. We are any Equal Opportunity Employer.
