Bloomsbury Publishing is seeking a motivated and creative individual with book design experience who possesses strong skills in design, layout, and typography for a freelance, part-time position of Senior Designer. We publish a balance of fiction and non-fiction titles and we’re looking for someone who can solve design challenges creatively and has a sophisticated sense of typography.

Requirements:  
• Working under the direction of the Art Director
• Design both hardcover and paperback covers
• Managing all aspects and stages of a book’s jacket design, mechanical layout and production
• Some experience designing interiors welcome
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Expert proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator in a Mac environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
• Knowledge of pre-press processes and print production
• A strong portfolio that shows great potential
