Tadashi Kawamata
| March 18, 2008

"Toronto Project" from 1989 by a leading Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata.
It was an outdoor public installation realised in the centre of downtown Toronto.

I
like this work where it perticularly reveals his essential concerns, the reintegration of the natural into the urban environment form, humanisation of de-humanised spaces. The rigid geometric space is a temporal installation which is delicate and almost fragile in appearance though it creates broad gestural movements and integrates several components of the site.
