The maze at Cordes-sur-Ciel by Isabelle de Beaufort and Bernard Ramus

The maze at Cordes-sur-Ciel by Isabelle de Beaufort and Bernard Ramus

Drawing from the Medieval city plan for Toulouse, Isabelle de Beaufort and Bernard Ramus created a maze in Cordes-sur-Ciel, France where the abandoned house at the center of the maze represents the lair of the legendary dragon that lurks beneath the streets of Toulouse.

Some of the other things that inspired this piece: Alice in Wonderland, ancient Egypt, medieval turf mazes, and prehistoric Scandinavian labyrinths.
