The Powers of 10 (30 years later)

The Powers of 10 by Ray and Charles Eames

This short film has long been a favorite for designers and educators alike since it's birth in 1977 by Charles and Ray Eames. It's nine minutes in length, but well worth watching (again and again). To think that this was produced 30 years ago is magnificent. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend taking a short (9 minute) break to watch this revolutionary video.

I also enjoy the earlier version of Powers of Ten called "rough sketch" if I recall correctly. Interesting to compare to the finalized version to see how new advances in science were included and ge some idea of the Eames' editing process.

I would be interested to update the post with "rough sketch" to compare them side by side.
