Mariscal Drawing Life at the Design Museum

We are a little late catching the news of the UK retrospective of Valencia-born designer and artist, Javier Mariscal. By chance, we spotted the above photograph on flickr, which then led us to dig deeper. The exhibition opened on July 1st, 2009, and will be on view through November 1st, 2009.

"..Mariscal’s intense relationship with drawing and illustration is central to his career and is the basis for his designs over the last 30 years. He gave Barcelona its graphic identity as it emerged from the Franco era and in 1992 he introduced the world to Cobi, the official Olympic mascot of the Barcelona games..."
