New Wave 80s Vids
| May 03, 2007

Let's ride the time machine back to the 80s. Here are some music videos by animator Jim Blashfield. Why not throw away all your digital equipment and use the copy machine to animate?

 >> And She Was by the Talking Heads

 >> Leave Me Alone by Michael Jackson.

For deeper-cuts into the new wave, try these vids...

 >> Close to the Edit by the Art of Noise.

 >> What You Need by INXS.

 >> Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel.

Oh, and of course, Nothing but Flowers by the Talking Heads with typography by Tibor Kalman. Things were a bit silly in the 1980s.

I'll end with Istanbul (not Constantinople) by They Might be Giants with the animation of J. Otto Siebold.

Wait, wait... (although its more a 90s thing) why not also mention Scream by Michael featuring Janet and the typography of Scott Makela. PS.

These days the animation for Fell in Love with a Girl by the White Stripes and director Michel Gondy is rockin'.
