Classic American Corporate Identity
| March 31, 2007

Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar are winners of an AIGA medal. Their highly-influential work ranges from corporate identity, posters and print work to environments and exhibitions.

Here is the story behind the split in which partner Steff Geissbuhler and other creatives left to establish a new firm to carry on the legacy of the old. A CBS News video investigates the design process at this new studio run by Geissbuhler. (This vid was all funky on my Mac, maybe you'll be more fortunate).

So many of their marks are memorable and many are still in use. Along with Paul Rand and Saul Bass, the guys at C+G set the standard for modern corporate America.

The video was interesting. Seeing the process in motion was intriguing.
