The design of currency, paper bank notes in particular, can be interesting. One of the most prominent designs has been a set of Dutch Guilders by Robert Oxenaar pictured above.
What can be even more intriguing than the visual aspects are the *symbols* selected to represent and identify the issuing nation. If you could choose new imagery for your own national currency, what would it be?
A very nice book is The Art of Money by David Standish.
