These props allow Quitterie the flexibility to move them around to an almost infinite degree with the aim of provoking visual confusion by bestowing a modicum of real life onto these inanimate characters. This suggests an impression of movement or narrative through a play on shadows and reflections.

Quitterie’s interest in photography began in her teens shooting black and white pictures of everything and everyone in sight. Afterwards, she would develop them in her darkroom at home.

In University, she took a break from photography, studying a MA in Political Science. Then she began a career in journalism in Paris, but it was after her first commissioned piece with American photographer Jane Evelyn Atwood for Le Figaro magazine that she realized photography came to her more instinctively than writing.

In 2005, she committed herself to becoming a freelance photographer, gaining recognition as a conceptual photographer for the finance industry. She produced more than 68 covers for La Revue Banque, a magazine published by the ‘Federation of French Bankers’. Her pictures have also been published in various corporate publications such as Les Echos.
