Alvin Lustig

I discovered the designer Alvin Lustig while working on a school project a few years back. I’ve always been fascinated by how many disciplines he worked within. He designed fabrics, furniture, ads, books, a helicopter.....

Lustig had a short career, only living until 40 years old (1915-1955). But, his wife Elaine Lustig Cohen continues to design to this day.

It's nice to hear that a school project had some impression. One thing I find fascinating about studying designers are their outside-the-studio lives or the diversity of work that they do. Like most everyone else, designers are not one-dimensional.
