"Based on the Short Stories of Etgar Keret, and adapted for the screen by Etgar Keret and Director Tatia Rosenthal, $9.99 is a stop motion animated feature which offers slightly less than $10 worth about the meaning of life..." —$9.99 movie site
The film's first special engagements will show on June 19th at the Landmark Nuart in LA, and the Landmark Sunshine in NYC, with more cities and dates to follow. I'm really looking forward to seeing this new collaboration between director Tatia Rosenthal and writer Etgar Keret. The use of claymation and stop-motion animation juxtoposed with a unique storyline gives me much promise that this will be a memorable film (and best on the big screen).
"It took the Israeli-born filmmaker Tatia Rosenthal nine years to get her first animated feature made. Its title: “$9.99.” “And it’s coming out in 2009,” she said..." —Characters of Clay, Extremely Well Aged via NYTimes.com
