the second Design Library

Following the success of the first Design Library in Milan (opened 2006), on November 6th, a second lucky city now has an indispensable resource. The new library, which opened this week in Shanghai, is the joint collaboration of design-italia and Recapito Milanese (the focus is specific to Italian and international design). I'm excited at the possibility of having a library exclusively for design in New York City. But London, Stockholm and Istanbul are next in line. The libraries house collections of books, magazines, catalogues, video archives, and annuals, as well as provide space for design discussions and events.
