Otl Aicher & the Olympics
| October 18, 2007

Otl (Otto) Aicher (1922-1991)

Since the logo for the 2012 Olympics in London stirred up so much discussion…its interesting to look back on the work of Otl Aicher.

German designer, educator and writer, Otl Aicher is probably best remembered for his Lufthansa identity, Rotis typeface and his work on the visual systems for the 1972 Olympics (an unfortunate year).

I've been interested in Otl Aicher and the Ulm School because of my interest in Design Education. Here are some links... Form+Zweck 20 and an Ulm Exhibition.

Great links. Thank you! I'm actually not familiar with most of the designers highlighted on Form + Zweck or the Ulm School. Need to start brushing up on my design hisory.
