"Mr. Cogito" designed by Chip Kidd. Do we like this? Do we not like this? Why? What is this poetry book even about? Who is Mr. Cogito? Why is Amazon selling it for $150 at its cheapest? Does the description of Cogito give us any hints (The principle establishing the existence of a being from the fact of its thinking or awareness)? Why is everything tilted? Why does the figure on the front look like a bright alien being strangled by the word "poems". I have too many questions!!! Is that even a good thing? Does it make me want to read the book because I do not know what the heck is really going on? Am I being communicated too or conned into purchasing? Oh these are tricky times.
Also, if you want to be further inspired by Chip Kidd, check out his updated site Good is Dead.

I think it is great to consider that we are inspired by the very thing we are working on, and don't always need to be inspired by an outside unrelated source (though I still consider those sources crucial to creativity).” |
