http://www.designrelated.com/inspiration/CheersToDesign Sat, 07 Jun 2008 16:48:00 GMT CheersToDesign's design:related inspirations http://www.designrelated.com/inspiration/view/CheersToDesign/entry/2337 I had the pleasure of hearing Jacques from VoiceBox Creative speak at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo just before I graduated.  Our AIGA club took him out to dinner in town---which I just had to crash---and we sat for 3 hours while we all conversed with one of the coolest guys on the planet.  It might be his South African accent, but this man truly is one of the most remarkable people on the planet.  He told us not to worry about getting work after school, which is enlightening to hear in this worrisome economy at the moment.  He gave us some great pointers about our portfolios, such as the importance of the diversity with our work, and to always design out of your comfort zone.  He never got tired of our questions.  He has a ton of energy.  I hope to work with him in the future.
