I learned how to draw women from J.M.L's comic books (hurray for comic book women with hips!) so if my anatomy is ever off, it's totally his fault

I find the combination of the very realistic human figures coupled with the pattern and detail heavy (and sometimes very flat) backgrounds to be very appealing.  Even the paintings by him that I don't like...I like a lot.  I love the sensuality of the shapes that he uses to convey fluidity and motion in all of his pieces.

One of my favorite art periods.  I loved the insane amounts of detail given to every aspect of the painting.
