This short video (1:18) by Buffalo Picture House depicts the rare scenery of the vast, empty New York City streets during Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene. The music combined with the close-up black & white shots creates this wonderful sense of serenity.

Artist Andrew Lewicki creates a sculpture inspired by the iconic Nabisco cookie titled, “Oreo Manhole Cover.”

A mere 28 inches wide and made of cast iron, the sculpture takes the famous pattern and transforms it into something you'd only find in the sweetest of dreams.

These artsy edibles by manjar are a delight. If they are as fun to eat as they are to look at then they must be amazing. The iconic, camera-shaped cookies include a Polaroid Rainbow Land camera, a Diana camera, and a Blackbird camera (along with a separate flash of course).

They also come in "Greenpoint" and "Bushwick" flavors. Mustache cookies included.

Photographer David J. Slater had a run in with the Sulawesi (crested black macaque), an extremely rare and critically endangered animal, which resulted in some amazing self-photos.

They were quite mischievous jumping all over my equipment, and it looked like they were already posing for the camera when one hit the button.

Pentax’s newest camera, the Pentax Q, claims that it “carves out an entirely new camera category that extends beyond traditional digital compact, APS-C or 4/3 digital cameras.”


This designer for one is looking forward to giving what they claim to be the “world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera (ILC)” a test drive. I’ve owned a couple of pro-sumer Pentax DSLRs over the past few years, and I’ve yet to be disappointed.

The Q carries an $800 price tag for the standard lens kit (comes in black and white), and an additional $249.95 for the shoe-mounted viewfinder. It is slated to come out in the fall.
