Modern Architecture

I have taken a recent interest in modern architecture and in all honesty, think I've always been interested but have just taken a more serious movement towards learning more about it. I have to thank Dwell magazine for this, they always have some of the best articles and featured homes that just excite me.

Because of a recent article in Dwell I insisted to my fiance that if we are ever living financially comfortable I would like to build a small (sustainable) home on the edge of a lake in Canada that will have a bedroom which overlooks the lake and has large glass windows which can be opened on nice days. I can imagine waking up, opening those large windows (sliding out of the way) and letting the air and sunlight in. I can't wait!

Now more then ever, I realize how inspired I am by Swiss design. I am in awe of it, inspired by it and most of all I try to emulate it through my work. Many people are not understanding of this style and sometimes think of it as boring, but I find it to be one of the most interesting and pure era's of design.

A master of typography and a way with design, he has been my biggest inspiration lately. Unfortunately I wasn't shown much (if any) of his work during my college years but am so glad that I am able to catch up on his work now. Also the father of Avant Garde Gothic and U&LC.

The Romanian-born designer, illustrator, artist and teacher fascinates me with her array of work and the many levels that she can work on.
