Civil War Portraits

Collector Tom Liljenquist recently donated nearly 700 Civil War portraits to the Library of Congress.

This new acquisition not only contains photographs that are of superb quality, but also shows the broad spectrum of ordinary people who fought in the Civil War. The photos are absolutely striking.

CB radio QSL Cards

I had never heard of QSL cards before I came to this site, but what an amazing collection of amateur art! I guess in the 60s-80s amateur radio operators exchanged QSL cards to confirm two-way radio contact between stations via CB radios. There are so many gems here! You could look for hours.

The Hermes website couldn't be more clever or charming! You can't help smiling at the little drawings. The glove shadow puppets are my favorite. The site shows their gorgeous products in so many smart ways.

It almost makes you want to buy a $170 tie for your dad.
