I fffffound Some Inspiration
Add to Folder | Comments (0) | May 02, 2008

I stumbled on this website and bookmarked it immediately.  It's an image collection site where users can login and store their images in a del.icio.us (something like that) type fashion.  Great collection of artwork, photography, typography, and anything else you can capture with a computer.

A lot of the work found here is imaginative and highly creative.  Great for collecting new ideas to experiment with.

Mr. Anderson knows how to capture my attention with his photography. My favorite pictures are located in his "music" and "scenic" sections.

Simply amazing work.

I love web design and all aspects of it. I gather inspiration for my own work by looking at the works of others; Seeing designs, techniques and practices that I can fuse into my own style.

The creator of Styleboost understands this need of mine.

Styleboost's primary goal? To showcase outstanding websites.

According to their website:

Styleboost is a gallery for showcasing beautiful web sites. It has been around since January 2001 and is created, designed and maintained by myself, Johan Bakken. I do this to learn and to promote stuff I like.

Giving my resume a face lift...feels good.

I haven't updated my resume since right before I graduated college in 2003. It worked at the time and helped me land a nice job with the Harris Corporation. I've been working here for four years now and have yet to update my resume with all the neat-o stuff they have me doing.

My previous resume was amateurish at best and there was no way I could continue to use it and feel good about standing out from other candidates. It needed some work...it needed a face lift.

I found this article on lifeclever.com that takes you on a step by step journey towards an easy to read/skim resume.

It's inspirational to see the work I've completed compressed and reduced to 1 page (that was sarcasm). However - It is nice to have my resume updated, laid out nicely, and ready to go.

When I get a chance to convert it to a PDF document, I'll be sure to upload it to my design:related profile.

Productivity and Life Enhancements

"Well… intellectually stronger."

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when I think about what I want to achieve compared to what I actually have done. Lately I've been on a huge life and productivity kick. Blindly living day to day hoping that everything simply falls into place is no longer sufficient.

I want to make myself a more efficient, self-sufficient person. I hope that in doing so, I can focus more of my energy and free time into the aspects of life I enjoy the most; art, music, and people.

On a tangent note, working a 9-5 corporate style job DOES slowly eat away at your soul.

Each of the websites discussed in the article linked via "Secondary Details" have pretty nifty information on a variety of topics from self improvement, time management, "life hacks", and other sappy soul enhancing nonsense I find useful.

BIGGER.BETTER.FASTER.STRONGER.
