When i was interning in New York during the summer of 2002,
I had quite a bit of free time. thus, i took a low-stress continuing ed collage class at Cooper Union.
One of the many odd collages I made during this class.
I spent a good part of the summer rummaging through old used book stores, thrift stores, and avenue flea market.

I discovered the designer Alvin Lustig while working on a school project a few years back. I’ve always been fascinated by how many disciplines he worked within. He designed fabrics, furniture, ads, books, a helicopter.....
Lustig had a short career, only living until 40 years old (1915-1955). But, his wife Elaine Lustig Cohen continues to design to this day.

This place opened on St. Mark’s street a few months ago. It was surprisingly good. Great late night snack. I recommend the Mac and Cheese.

I'm so excited for my friend and former colleague who's book cover design is exhibited in this year's AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers.
The show is still up if you are in New York. (I heard its also worth seeing because prominent designers arranged the exhibition)
