Description: Struin is a Dutch designstudio funded by Josie van Leeuwen - Kneepkens (1973) and Erik van Leeuwen (1978). We make upcycled artwork and interior design from objects we find in nature, beaches or harbours, woods or quarry or waste from the industry and old furniture. We think it's better to re-use then to recycle to help to decrease the waste that spoils this beautiful earth. As a designstudio we also are aware of the amount of energy that is used by producing new stuff. It is our passionate challenge to reform these materials and give it a new purpose! Besides that we love the history of used objects. As if they carry a story. Therefore dead objects will be given a second life but still be carrying the old ones as well. Objects made by Designstudio Struin are tables, clocks, lamps, wall carpets and all other things we can think of.
